Nearly $40 for access to only 6 tests--3 of which are the same exams as the previous edition--and the other 2 of them are online only? Really? Come on ACT...you can do better. The 2 online tests are not a huge draw, since there are already many free, official practice ACTs you can find online (google "ACT Action Plan" for more info). Either way, you will still have to print them out at home at your own cost--in the interest of "practicing the way you play," you should never take full ACTs on a screen, only paper.$20 would be a more reasonable price--the College Board's SAT Guide has 8 tests for $18, and all of them are printed. In fact, the physical book that is included is the exact same as the last edition. Thus, the Prep Pack's markup seems to be directly related to the included 6-month subscription to the "ACT Online Prep" program, which has a retail value of $39.95 on the ACT website. If, like me, you don't see great value in this program (ACT, Inc. recently announced plans to create a free version of ACT Online Prep called ACT Academy), then you would be better off simply buying the paper book instead: The Official ACT Prep Guide, 2018: Official Practice Tests + 400 Bonus Questions OnlineAbout me: I'm a Harvard grad, ACT/SAT perfect scorer, and professional ACT tutor since 2002.
This book is still available to purchase on Amazon, but the link in the front cover of the book to the online resources "onlineprep.act.org/login" doesn't seem to work. So, I went to the ACT website and found a hyperlink to Prep Pack and that link doesn't work either. Still hunting for how to get access to the online resources....The book is also now outdated as the new Prep Pack for 2018-2019 has the "new" test that is in the 2018-2019 ACT Real Prep Guide. The primary reason for the three stars is the newer book has more tests, so why get the older book?UPDATED--while the link inside the front cover didn't seem to work, once I peeled off the Access Code, the link printed on that instruction card worked--so tear off the plastic covering the access code and use the instructions printed on that separate card.
This is a well put together study program that not only tackles each specific topic, but also addresses test taking skills. This came with an online code for study as well. (This was a $40 dollar free add-on.) I will add to this review after my two teens retake the ACT to report any increases in scores.
This book has been very helpful. It has many ways Nd rules on how you can past your ACT. I am now confident enough to take test now that i have been studying with this book

So many practice tests are online, but the paper and pencil practice in this book replicates the real test taking experience.
