This book was like candy for my brain. I learned so much while reading it. I gained a profound appreciation for the "Berkeley" approach to computer science. Many of the concepts I learned helped me later ether by providing insights into why things were done a certain way, or giving me patterns to use in my own work.A beautiful example of things that stayed with me are the "MBUFS". These memory buffers are the cornerstone of protocol design, and they by their nature optimize code by cutting down on the need to copy things around.Anyone that considers themselves a "Systems Programmer" might want to to take the time to read this book. I think it is life-changing.
